More on OL walkon already enrolled

Stetson Tenney, a big OL from Arizona is already enrolled in school and will try and stick.

Here is some more information on Tenney.

Stetson had offers from Utah State and Northern Arizona but chose to walkon and try and break onto BYU’s roster. In high school, he played on both sides of the ball and established a reputation as an athlete and earned all-state honors. He was also a state champion wrestler.

From the prep ranks, we have learned that Mountain View (Orem) Greg May is planning on walking on at BYU after he goes on an LDS mission.

May is in the mold of a Nate Meikle and could end up playing slot receiver. He is 5-10, 185 and isn’t a speed track guy, but his coach Teko Johnson claims he is one of the best football players, athletes and leaders he’s ever been around. Johnson played May at RB, WR, DB, LB and he punted and returned kickoffs and punts. He led Mountain View in all purpose yards with 2,000 while also leading the team in interceptions.

“He reminds me of former Mountain View receiver Ben Cahoon, now in the CFL. He catches everything thrown his way and he just makes plays. He doesn’t pull away from people, but he’s as solid a football player as you’ll see. In drills, he lays out for passes and when he catches the ball in practice, he runs another 25 yards, it’s those little things you don’t see very often in a high school athlete,” said Johnson.

May was first team all-state (Deseret News). We had him cover some guys who are going to BYU and he held his own. When we put him on some receivers at Timpview, they didn’t catch any more balls thrown to his side.”

May had some interest form Utah State, SUU, Weber State and Snow College, but his immediate mission plans after his senior year didn’t bring any solid offers.
