MWC picks TCU and BYU in baseball race

The preseason pick is out and it’s TCU followed by BYU according to a poll released today.

The poll was via ballot of coaches and media members.

Four BYU players made the all-MWC preseason team as TCU received six of the possible nine first place votes for 60 points while the Cougars received three first-place votes (52 total).

BYU returns six starters led by 2007 freshman All-American and MWC co-freshman of the year Steve Parker. Other Cougars are Ken Walton, now back in school after a rift with his LDS bishop, first baseman Kasey Ko and sophomore outfielder Sean McNaughton.

The Cougars start the season Friday at the University of Portland in a three-game series.

In Fort Collins, the game is still not on TV. No movement on that front. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at Moby Gym.
