Plaisted finishing workouts
Trent Plaisted still doesn’t know what will happen come draft day, but he’s at least getting exposed for good or for worse.
Plaisted will have worked out with 10 to 14 clubs by the time the draft comes around. Reports say he has had some great moments and he’s also had some of his weaknesses examined.
Plaisted reported back to Provo that he thought he did OK at the Orlando pre-draft camp. He had his moments. He was also a little frustrated that he didn’t get the ball passed to him very much — typical of scrimmages in these types of camps.
The measurements that have been posted on test day took place the final day of the camp when those who participated were tired and worn down. But it was fair and equal for all.
Plaisted had a 35-inch verticle. Tested at BYU, he jumped 12-1 on the boards but he was given enough tries until he missed a few times. At this camp, he got 11-9 on his first try and then mis-stepped on his second try at a higher board and missed and was out.
He also didn’t hit his usual BYU mark in the 185-pound lift. In Orlando, he did 14 reps. At BYU he has done 19 and 20 reps of that weight.
Plaisted believes, from what he’s being told, he will get drafted and there is a slim chance he could crack into the first round where the majority of the big money resides.
