QB makes his decision — a blind choice.

Josh Nunes, one of the top 10 quarterbacks in the country made a commitment to Tennessee, earlier this week. BYU was one of some 30 schools who had made an offer to the Upland High (California) quarterback.

Nunes and Pocatello’s Highland High QB Tysom Hill were two of the three quarterbacks BYU offered for the class of 2009. The other is USU transfer Riley Nelson, now on a mission in Spain. Nelson, as has been well documented and debated, has committed to the Cougars.

The interesting thing about Nunes was that he committed to the Vols without taking a recruiting trip. All his recruiting came through phone calls. His other offers included Florida, Notre Dame, UCLA, Stanford, Oklahoma, ASU and the Cougars. He also accepted the pitch by Tennessee despite the Vols already taking in a commitment from Texas QB Bryce Petty.

Hill, who was an early offer by Utah, has offers on the table from the Cougars, Arizona, Boise State Stanford and Washington State.
