AM practice, early returns

There were some interesting developments in Monday’s morning practice session.

Daniel Sorensen was used as a linebacker instead of safety and David Nixon was asked to tutor him at times. David Tafuna (concussion) appeared and immediately returned to his spot with the first unit. Matt Ah You was not present and Shawn Doman played with the first guys.

Tom Sorensen made his return to practice in full gear and played with the second offense at center. It appeared Brenden Gaskins and Kurt McEuen shared backup duties and reps. McEuen has failed to yield and this backup QB battle could go down to the wire.

O’Neil Chambers handled a lot of kickoff duty and looked very good. With protective action taken on Austin Collie, he might be the guy.

DE Ian Dulan didn’t practice. Brandon Bradley made the play of the practice with a pick of a Hall pass intended for Tyler Kozlowski.

Jeff Call will have more reports from this morning’s practice.
