Max Hall anxious to face the Lobos
Max Hall appeared thrilled to face New Mexico on Saturday and get back into conference play.
Hall told reporters he’d looked at film of the Lobos on Sunday and Monday and he looked forward to going against a “tough” Lobo defense that racked him a year ago on a few plays.
“They’ll blitz, they’ll come hard, they’ll change their coverages and I’m very excited to face this team with the things we do,” said Hall.
I thought Hall almost sounded giddy over prospects of playing UNM.
Hall and Mendenhall met with reporters this morning in the Student Athlete Building for the weekly press conference.
Mendenhall said he expects David Nixon and Scott Johnson to play against the Lobs but they may not practice early in the week after suffering contusions.
Mendenhall said when Nixon went down he had a lot of thoughts and none of them were very happy. “If we lose him, it is a team changer,” Mendenhall told reporters.
Hall accepted responsibility for BYU’s offense struggling a little in the USU game, in particular, the two interceptions.
“This might sound weird, but it felt good to throw a couple of interceptions,” Hall said. It brought him back to earth, it also helped him to realize the work he needs to be done and how incredibly high expectations are for QBs at BYU.
Bottom line, Hall said, is BYU defeated a fired up USU team by 20 points and it was a lopsided win. “That’s all that counts.’
