Hall says he'll do everything as captain to not lose again
Max Hall’s storied career at Mountain View High in Mesa, Ariz., and his climb to the top as BYU’s answer to departed John Beck is without a TCU-type loss.
“I’ve never lost a game where we’ve been beat up. That’s never happened to me in my football career.”
Hall vowed that he’d do all he can to fix things.
When asked what things he is talking about, he mentioned the following items:
–More enthusiasm on the field and the way the team moves around.
–Get back to the basic stuff that got the offense where it is.
–Work the ball down the field and move the chains, getting chunks of yardage instead of trying to get it all at once.
–No be lazy, play every down and build things from the ground up.
Hall said he has heard criticisms that he’s focused on Austin Collie and he denied that being the case. He said throwing to Collie is on designed plays or sometimes after making a second and third read when Dennis Pitta or another target like Michael Reed or Harvey Unga was covered.
“I want to spread the ball around. When we do that, that’s when we’re at our best,” said Hall.
