Practice Report: Tafuna injured
It was a routine play in which starting safety David Tafuna was fighting off a block, according to head coach Bronco Mendenhall.
Tafuna suffered a dislocated shoulder on the play. “He’ll be questionable right now,” said Mendenhall. “We’ll see how he feels Thursday and the rest of the week. It just happened.
The Cougars had a spirited Wednesday practice. “The pace was right, the attitude was good. This team has responded every time I’ve asked them to, in whatever I’ve asked,” said Mendenhall.
Linebacker Terrance Hooks, who injured his knee cap last spring, was actively taking reps with the second team. Mendenhall said Hooks will make his first big role in a game plan when he returns to kickoff coverage duties. From there, he’ll be evaluated how he holds up and will be used accordingly in game plans, if not for the Colorado State game, for the next one.
Max Hall said he doesn’t see the Cougars worrying about anything different on this road trip — that the TCU road trip was different, not the norm. “I don’t see us having to do anything different for this trip.”
