Collie makes All-American team
The Mountain West voters, a panel of coaches of nine members of the media in each market that has a team, did not name Austin Collie the league’s offensive player of the year but CBS Sportsline placed him on it’s All-America team.
He was the only MWC player so honored as an offensive player.
You can see the All-America team right here.
One of the other receivers on that list was Texas Tech star Michael Crabtree. The only other MWC player on the team was TCU defensive end Jerry Hughes. Utah’s Louis Sakoda was not on the team but Graham Gano was.
Much has been made of Austin Collie going to the NFL today.
I think he will and he should. But the decision has not been made yet. Collie will research the possibility of going pro after the bowl game, consulting with coaches and listening to people he trusts. He then will make a decision at that time.
