BYU-TCU on a collision course
Texas Christian is undefeated heading into this week’s game against SMU. The Frogs have yet to play a conference foe and has a significantly tougher schedule than No. 5 ranked Boise State.
With wins over Clemson and Virginia of the ACC under their belt, the Frogs look to be a force.
It’s interesting to ask, however, where has TCU’s focus been this past year since beating Boise State in a bowl game?
Obviously, you’d think it would be the first game of the season, then the second, and so on. I think that’s the chain. But it isn’t he whole story.
This photo makes for an interesting debate.
It is a long-held belief you cannot win in football unless you take one game at a time, but TCU’s coach admitted last year his team had looked to the BYU game all year long, way before the Cougars came to Fort Worth undefeated at 6-0 and then got killed.
It is also true that Utah works on BYU stuff during the off-season and during a bye week like the one the Utes have right now. They’ll also run a few plays in prep for BYU in other parts of the season, according to my sources.
This photo (below) was taken before BYU’s season opener with Oklahoma, before TCU’s opening game of the season. The location of this photo is in the weight room of the Frogs. Note that the helmet on the piece of equipment is not of Virginia, Clemson or Utah.
This ploy isn’t wrong, it worked a year ago for the Frogs.
The questions I have are what does it mean?
And if BYU had a helmet to hang on a piece of equipment all year long, who would it belong to?
