Former BYU QB John Beck traded to Washington Redskins

John Beck won’t be fighting Troy Smith for the backup job behind Joe Flacco at Baltimore any more. The Ravens traded Beck to the Washington Redskins today.

This might be a good move for Beck. He knows Donovan McNabb, who had the same trainer in Phoenix as John. Plus, Kyle and Mike Shanahan have followed Beck since his BYU days and are familiar with his game, his accomplishments and his challenges at Miami. Kyle and (Mike) Shanahan joined Matt LaFleur in Houston and helped develop Matt Schaub.
